Walking with all the angels

Passing the church of St Michael and All the Angels it’s easy to jump to conclusions as to why this church is so dedicated.  This walk has such wonderful views, and a fair bit of altitude, and it doesn’t take that much imagination to believe you really are walking with the angels.

Starting from the White Lodge Car Park, with basic chemical toilets just a few hundred yards up the path, we crossed the A6 and soon started climbing up Brushfield Ridge with its startlingly panoramic view of  High Dale.  This 5 mile walk can be extended up to 9 miles by walking up to Miller’s Dale and Tideswell.  Having got to the top of Brushfield Ridge I felt no need for additional exercise so we stuck to the shorter route.

This walk continues through the hamlet of Priestcliffe and the village of Taddington and St Michael’s church.  It ends after a walk downhill across fields back to the White Lodge Car Park.
